Doetsch Tech shocks write-up from Rocky-Road.
http://www.rocky-road.com/jeepsus.html
We ran Rancho 9000s shocks for many years. While we managed to look past the rough ride, even on the softest setting, we tired of the constant problems.... the knobs would break off, the adjustment would seize up, they rusted quickly, and the air system never worked right. Not to mention that due to serious usage we'd break one or two Rancho shocks every year... VERY expensive to replace! So we threw away all our RS9000s. We've also dropped the other shock lines and switched over to the Doetsch Tech shocks.

These shocks are absolutely perfect for folks who want a great on and off-road shock, but don't want to spend over $200 buying them (and doesn't want to deal with their hassles). These shocks are valved lightly for a very smooth highway ride. Forget those hard riding knock-the-fillings-out-of-your-head shocks (Rancho5000, ProComp, Trailmaster, Rough Country, etc.). All the other big name shocks were designed for pickup trucks and will ride stiff on mid-weight Jeeps. We chose the DT shocks specifically for their ability to provide great on and off road performance for Jeeps. We size them perfectly to run with all our lifts and carry them in most every length for any application.

Actually a friend of mine owns it and I've bought a few things from him. He is also one of the sponsers of our local jeep club in DFW so many of our members have purchased from him and I've heard no complaints.  Jason & Jennifer will treat you right.

Ok I ordered Doetsch Tech 3000 Series.
Dosent look like they have boots on em, Is that somthing i should get befor I put em on?
I do a lot of dusty trails and mud.
I don't know if that is somthing these shocks would need or not.

Most people leave the boots off becuase they can trap dirt and mud.

I got my Doetsch Tech in today.... but one of them is all scratched up and starting to chip a little...
They stapled the box closed and all the staples hit the shock.... I fugered I would just paint it white with rust proof paint... Do you guys think this will last with weather and salt and such? Its the rear shock so it will hardly be seen.
I'm thinking about calling the company i ordered from, but I don't want to send it back and wait another week for my shocks to come in again, and thats if they send me one when I send mine in! if they wait it would be 2-3 weeks

Hell, I'd touch it up and run it.  I believe they will replace the shock under warranty though.
