1997 Jeep Wrangler 2.5L

I worked out for an hour today and pulling out of a parking lot my engine died. When I attempted to start it would crank but not turnover. A friend towed me down the street to work where it sat for a few hours. I went back and tried to start it and it fired right up but died after a few minutes and wouldn't start again. The only previous symptoms I can think of occured twice within the last few weeks, when in a parking lot with the engine just idling it would idle down and act like it was going to die and then after a few seconds it would idle back up and be fine. Anyone experienced this before? I know it may be the fuel pump, but before I go to the expense and effort to replace it I thought I'd ask.

Thanks for the help,
John

check your fuel filter, spark plugs, and clean your throttle body.  these are all things that could possibly cause some of those problems.  it could be the fuel pump too.
