How does your crawl ratio work out with 39's and 5.13 gears and a 4.3 to 1 transfer case? My next Jeep will be a 2.4l 4 banger with dana 60's 5.38 gears and about a 5 to1 doubler would like to gear it lower but seems there are no reverse cut gears available that go lower than that. Kinda like the 4 speed atlas but that is out of my range same goes for a klune. Just curious how this setup works for you

To be honest the gearing set up on this Jeep is SPOT-ON. It is almost effortless to drive. 4:3 gives you great low=range and you can get tire spin when needed, 5:1 will make it a lot lower, maybe on the fence of too low.   I do trailer mine everywhere with little on road driving, If you plan to drive it on the road some too, I would go with 5:38's, thats not alot of difference in gearing but it would help...   you can see this Jeep performing on You-Tube under  Harlan 09.   This all is my opinion, I've owned different Jeeps with Different set-ups and I wouldn't trade this one for anything.  bombproof and dependable  period.

I did have the Tera-Low 4 to 1 in the 231 for a while, it was a great upgrade and for the price (1200.00) it really is worth it.

Fixed it for you.
Looks good. You have a tail light that's not working. Wink
Looks like you were creating a fair amount of smoke up the trail?

My current 4 banger has 35" tires 4.88 gears and a terralow works very well.
You got hosed on the terra low though cost me 700 and change brand new.
I just want something a bit more radical for doing all the hammer trails.
Took mine over Sledge hammer but don't really want to trash it that bad.
So going to built me a Jeep for those trails and some of the rough stuff in Arizona.
By the way love the video clip, gotta love rocks and wet ones is even better

Yea My buddy that was filming that failed to tell me about the light  asshat

The smoke was coming from the Rokwelled rig that was behind me, he busted his Radiator just a couple minutes before and didn't realize it.

as for the hammers the 5:1 would be a great choice i would think, I live in the Southeast and get a lot of mudddy Rocks, my reasoning for the tire spin at times, the video is a typical day of wheeling here.

If you ever come this way get in touch and we have at least 7 or 8 parks within 2 hours, a good weeks worth of riding. beers
