What exact part# injector for my 2.5L?

According to sharpxmens chart in the FAQ section,


If you use ford part#0-280-150-717 injectors, they will put you at 21# with a stock jeep (2.5) fuel pump. These injectors are rated at 19#@32psi by ford.

However, everyone is saying you can use any injector from 5.0's, 4.6's, etc etc.
Yet, a part #0-280-150-203 out of a 5.0 will give you 18.3# with your stock jeep pump.
Or if we use part#0-280-150-710 out of another 5.0ford, you are left with 14# with your stock jeep pump!!!!!!!!
Or if we use part#0-280-150-718 out of another 5.0ford, you are left with just over 17# at 39psi with your stock jeep pump!!!

Or, if we use part#0-280-150-943 (commonly referred to as yellow top injecters) out of a ford 4.6L, you will be left with 17.3#'s with your stock jeep pump! That is BELOW stock injector pressure according to Sharpxmens chart!
And these are the "19lb" injectors that are all over ebay.

I appreciate the great write up, but things need to be much more clear when cross breeding engine components. (Not to mention if someone is color blind)

For the love of the dirt gods, what Ford part# injector do i need for my 2.5L jeep?
Currently, i have no mods, but will soon change to 4.0tb and header.
Please help.

that is b/c the ford 19# are rated at 43.5psi - different pressure results in different flow. If you want to match the flow you need the same pressure, so increase the fuel pressure in your rail. If you want stock flow then use stock injectors, you won't find anywhere injectors that would say in the specs 18lb/hr for Jeep fuel pressure, they are either rated for the vehicle's fuel pressure (like for Jeep 17.4 lb/hr at 39 psi) or at 3 bar which seems to be the most common way the aftermarket injectors are rated. most of the custom fuel injection systems involve an adjustable FPR for that purpose, so you can match your wot flow with your target AFR.

I hope i answered your questions, my chart was meant just for that - to clarify misconceptions about injector flow ratings mainly due to different operating fuel pressures.

Yes, i understand all that. According to your chart, the -943 injectors are rated at 18.3#@3bar. Which puts them at 17.3#@39psi (jeep pressure).
That is just below the stock jeep 2.5 setup. Yet, these are the ones i have read people using and like.



What am i missing? Is the increased atomization making up for lack in lbs?

Your chart shows what different injectors will yield (flow rates) at different fuel pressures Correct?

yeah, pple are using those injectors but there's no increase in performance. the difference between the 2 is 0.57%, so really they flow almost the same, you won't really lose performance but you won't gain any either

yes, you're correct - that's what the chart shows.

most of the time when replacing the injectors, the stock ones are old and beat up, the ford design III are newer model so chances are they have less mileage even if they are second hand - so replacing your old and possibly malfunctioning/leaking/squirting injectors with these ones your engine will run better, if you dyno the engine with 2 new stock sets you won't find any difference between the 2 or if you do it can go both ways as no dyno runs are perfectly identical.

find one that flows 5 to 8% more than the stock injectors at 39 psi, or keep your stock ones (or get ford design III) and use an adjustable FPR to get the desired flow.

what you probably want is an injector that flows min 18.3 lb/hr and max 18.8 at 39psi - that translates in 19.3 to 19.85 at 43.5psi (3 bar)

less than that and won't be significant, more than that and probably would be on the too rich side.

Accel 150119 (or 819 for a set of eight) flows 19lb/hr at 43.5 psi (not sure if i remembered the p/n correctly but the last 3 digits are good for sure)

So what was the final result?
1995 2in pucs, 2.5 suspension, 33 BFG's, 4.0 TB, TBS, Auto w/ TCI shiftkit, header, flowmaster, Jacobs Ignition, ARB's front and rear, Rock-it tube w/K&N filter, SYE kit.

After much looking at flow rate charts and spreadsheets I finally came up with the injectors I'm going to try.  The numbers on them are Bosch 0-280-155-857 design III with EV1 connectors.  The flow rates are 19.8 @ 43.5(3bar).  That equalls to 18.7 @ 39 (Jeep).  That should give between 5-7% over the stock ones at 17.4 @ 39.  I'll post when I know something after they get here and I install them.  I hope to build an AF meter by then.

Update and a little more info.  On the Bosch part numbers.  the standard part number looks like this 0-280-15X-XXX.  The injectors that will fit will have a 150 or 155 in them.  This tells you what connector it has.  150s are EV1 and 155s are EV6.  Ford Power Sports has a slick little 1 piece adapter for the EV1 plug to EV6 connector for $39.00 for a set of 8, free shipping.  Here is the link if you need them www.americanmuscle.com/mustang-ev1-ev6-adapter-kit.html.  As soon as the adapters get here I'll install my new injectors.  I could not find an EV1 Design III injector that gave me the flow numbers and spray pattern I wanted with the stock FPR.
