Flywheel installed wrong?
« on: September 19, 2009, 10:47:07 AM »
I've searched around and found that you can NOT install the flywheel in the wrong position. This is on a 97 2.5L.
Can anybody verify this for me?
thanks

as long as all the bolts that go in the crankshaft will thread in by hand and not go in crooked you are right on the money - the holes in the flywheel and crank are keyed (not equally spaced) for that reason.

x2...one of the bolts in the circular pattern is slightly off so its not possible to do it wrong. I just did mine this past winter and ended up w/ a stripped a hole in the crank putting it together  :brick: so its still fresh in my mind.
