Have a noise coming from around the bell housing area. 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear and reverse. it's like a clicking, like roll your tongue to say "Bddddddddddddd". I put a brand new clutch in about 7,000 miles ago, and a used transmission. I'm thinking it could be one/some of the bolts that hold the clutch to the flywheel came loose, though I tightened them with a torgue wrench. It dosn't sound like the throw out or pilot bearings... but I just don't know. anybody have any ideas?

I asked him if 4th and 5th made noise and they do Not.

this is all considering that the noise is indeed coming from the bellhousing, if it's inside the transmission it's a whole different story:

- bad pilot bearing
- ask him if he clocked the flywheel properly (unlikely but seems that some people do that, not sure how though)
- the other thing i can think of is the inspection cover withouth some of the bolts

by the way he describes it i would think to be more of a driveshaft issue though.
