Title: Home made snorkel idea

I have a plan to use a K&N Apollo universal cold air system to make a snorkel that will use pvc to run through the firewall into the cowl area up through the cowl and end with a HMMWV style cap. Any ideas or input would be greatly appreciated since im honestly not sure it would even work let or if something like this would hurt performance.
