Title: Really?
Post by: aka-justin on September 01, 2011, 11:41:19 PM
I walked by this Ford Explorer last week and stopped mid-step to do a double take.

My internal thought as I stared and grabbed the photo "Steps? and they're lowered? Really? I could just see this high-centered in the parking lot on a speed bump."

Minor complaint.  Just remove the bar and the stock rocker.

Probably a woman truck and she wouldn't be able to get into it otherwise.  Then again, it doesn't matter much when you don't take it offroad.

Maybe its one of those electronic ones that is stuck down since the engine is off. When you step back up and sit, start the engine, it raises tucked under the rocker.

I noticed the exhaust and it looks bigger than it should be.

I'm thinking it has a body lift, which would make the step bars look lower.  When I got my '05 Sport Trac I purposely got a base XLT that did not come with step bars.  The Ranger I had before had step bars and all they were good for was getting my pants dirty in the winter.
