has anybody seen the inside of distributor of a 2.5 liter amc .....the pulse ring has two notchs one is triangle and other is square about 180* of each other ... for lining up the pulse ring with a roll pin ... i used the triangle one for the roll pin ...sorry i have been working too much ....

hmm 1986 must be pre tbi (aka has a carb). the tbi version has no sensors in the distributor, I've never seen a distributor from a carberated 2.5l to give you a hand. I may have some literature that will lend some incite... (will look up when have more time).

Hmm, I believe in the XJ, it was always TBI. The CJ's were carburated though.
