The dirt breaks away into power.  He needs lower gears though.  A crawler box would have got him through that without stalling nearly as much.  I'd guess he's got 4.56's or 4.88's in his D44's.

My son and I saw this Trail-Gear.com owned crawler at the 4WheelParts Truck and Jeep Fest just a few days ago - looked awesome. It’s similar to the Trail-Gear crawler in the video, but obviously different.

I think he did just fine. I bet if you told him he needed lower gears he'd ask you if you saw him drive sideways and pull through like no big deal. Sometimes it's fun to watch folks do stuff with their Jeeps you would never dream of.
