I had to look it up since I wasn't 100% sure what you were talking about. (posting a link would have helped)

That's just shade cloth that has been cut to 'fit' a Jeep.  I don't think it's a bad price what they charge for it seeing as shade cloth is rather expensive.  But they don't tell you how much light it lets through.  You can get it as dark as 90% meaning it blocks 90% of light.  I'm gonna guess theirs isn't as dark though.  It's not going to block rain though but that's not what shade cloth was designed for.  I haven't seen anyone with one though.

we made our own for a fraction of the price of buying them. they worked well in moab last year and great in texas earlier this year.

Why not just get a BestTop safari top?  They're super cheap and mine has lasted 5 years with a lot of use. Of course, I also use a Supertop, so my header bar for both is the same and on permanently.

The regular safaris Flap like a SOB if you do ANY driving at 50mph+ (it may flap some at lower speeds, but not annoying at that point).  those mesh tops dont flat at all.  I picked up a bestop mesh top on ebay for ~$50, love it so far.  I do wish it did block more light, but I'm happy.

The spider shades do not have to be removed to put your hardtop on, the other mesh tops do like bestop of vertically driven products.

My bestop bikini doesnt flap, but my safari does, however I will say my safari is a rugged ridge or some china brand, cant remember off hand which one.

I've had my mesh spider web for 2 years and love it. Great for hot summer days and I leave it on whether I put soft or hard top on. It doesn't flap too bad at all on highway. I highly recommend it for the price...you could make one but this is made well and comes with the right size little bungee things.
