I have a question I haven't been able to fix. I'm SOA with stock leafs. I put on a JB4x4 high steer bracket to get my drag link up. The problem is its not high enough to bring it over my leafs. When I turn left my drag link hits the spring. My pinion angle is 2* below inline with the front drive shaft which is a cv style TJ driveshaft. My question is if I put a 6* shim in my pinion angle will be way below the driveshaft. Is that bad? The only othe option I guess I have is to put it back under the spring with a S bend.
Any thoughts?

How high are the spring perches? Maybe they can be made lower. Or maybe a drag link flip on the high steer arm...

would it clear with a WJ knuckle? (you need both sides but just wondering). do you have a pic of that bracket (how high is it)?
-
Second the idea of the WJ knuckle. Friend of mine did this on his SOA leafed YJ.....

i'm thinking it should work but obviously without measurement you can't tell for sure - you get upgraded brakes while at it (pretty much same as vanco big brake kit) but you need to make sure the caliper clears the inside of the wheel. From what i recall you want akebono calipers and not teeves but this is from memory. Also JKS 1/4'' spacers for under the hub bearing.

I have 6 pak leafs which I'm going to take the smallest one out. I also have a huge drop Pitman arm which I'm going to try a stock one. My perches are 1 inch tall, they look like they can be shortened a good bit. I'm not a welder so that's a second cure for me. Not sure about the wk knuckles. I need to find a set and see.

You should not be running a drop pitman arm, nor a stock pitman arm for that matter. Your crossover steering will like work best with a pitman arm from a Jeep SJ like a Grand Wagoneer. These arms are nearly flat and will really help your draglink clear the spring.

I get the stock one tomorrow. It should help until I can get my hands in a flat one. If anyone finds one let me know what you find.

Astro van pitman arm works well also, if you want a flat pitman arm

I put the stock Pitman arm on and took the short helper leaf out of my 6 pak leafs. I can report that I can turn left again. :beers:
