Title: A/C assitance needed
Post by: thelostpirate on November 14, 2012, 07:25:04 AM
Ok i have a 2001 2.5ltr.  My Blower stopped working the other day. I pulled my control panel off the dash and the wiring connector on the selector switch had melted.

1.. can someone tell me which color wires went to which pins. I fogot to take a picture of the harness before i cut the wires off. 2 12 gauge wires, black and dark green. 1 18 gauge wire light green. i thijnk they go light green toward the top, dark green, then black???? (this is how i put them back toegther i just want to make sure it is right. a picture would work.

2. once i put the wires back i started testing other things, so i pulled my blower and it was fine. i then pulled the relay and replaced with a known good relay, still nothing. i had the wild idea jumping the power wires on the relay elminating it. My blower now works, but it will run with the ignition off.

So it looks like one of the wires that control the relay is not functioning. but i dont know what they are? any help or ideas???

thanks

12DG goes to Pin 1
20BK goes to Pin 2
12RD/LG goes to Pin 4
20DB/WT goes to Pin 5

Well how about a picture or something so we can see what you're looking at?  According to the FSM, the Blower Relay has 4 wires.  Not to be confused with the Blower Motor Resistor...
