Title: Fuel in the intake?

I finally got back into the tj today. Pulled the TB and went back through it. Cleaned everything again and swapped in a different map and tps I had. Map reading never changed still around 10.5 at idle.  Tps ended up being bad reads 100% all the time. Tossed it and put the one that starts out reading at 14%. All in all same stumble bogg out on start up then clears up mostly in about 3 ish minutes.

What's new

With the TB off I noticed some fuel laying in the front side of the intake. I sopped it up just in case  started ran the jeep for a bit and took the tb off again, sure enough fuel in the front part again.

I pulled the plug in the second cyl back because the front s a pita. It has been in there for 10 ish miles at the most and it is carboned up on the insulator and white on the bottom of the electrode. So I am thinking rich.


Is there anything other than a bad injector that would cause this?

smell the oil and see if it has a gasoline smell, if it does it runs too rich. is the engine temp reading ok? what about IAT? it's a bit strange to get fuel in the intake, only way to get this with MPFI imo is if you have a leaky injector (not closing so it squirts all the time). or maybe an intake valve that's not closing so it blows back towards the t/b on compression but i think in that case you'd know it runs in 3 cyls and not get better in time.

The oil in the case is fresh, but the oil that came out did smell strong enough with gas that I recall it.

Temp is reading ok. I took the iat out and cleaned it with map cleaner and apparently ruined it. I replaced it today.

Temp reads about right. 200-210

The head was reworked around 10 miles ago when I had it apart to fix the exhaust manifold. I noticed then that this number 2 cyl was carboned up some but I blamed it on valves and old plugs.

Before the tear down it would barely start much like one that is flooded. Now in the mornings it can take 2-3 10 second crank cycles to get it to start. Then popping and runs porlt for a few min then out on the road does ok to about 45 mph then you can floor it and it dosent sheen up just goes blah
