Got a new YJ with a 2.5 and the PO has added a nice shiny new chrome dipstick that measures 20 inches long, I never get any oil on the stick when I check it but I did the oil change and know I didnt put 4 qts on the ground.
Anyone have a minute to get me a correct length on the dipstick so I can replace mine?

straighten a coat hanger and stick it in all the way, mark the top and then pull out and mark the oil line, that's your full and you have the length. I would measure mine but it's long gone and replaced with an aftermarket one, if i find the old one in the garage i'll let you know. The other thing is did the PO replaced the tube as well, if he did then you're better off measuring it like i suggested since you don't know if it's the same as stock.

Just measured my 94 engine and it was 23 7/8 to the bottom of the t-handle.
Hope this helps,

Helps a lot, thanks.

The factory part number for the dipstick is 33007108. Google and you may find a deal.

Note: the part number above is for a 1994 or 1995, probably the same for '91-'93 as well.
