Can't believe I didn't notice this until now. Must have happened at th Badlands a couple of years back (last time I did some real rock crawling). Guess I was lucky it just rubbed itself closed and didn't crack or open up.
ARB cover going on.

Hmmmm...I'd say a little water got in my front diff. Good thing it "runs" open (unlocked) 95% of the time.
-
ARB's are great covers. Tough as nails, and the magnet tips work like a charm. Just be sure to clearly mark the oil level point, as most likely, if you are anything like me, you will forget at which marker you were supposed to run at after a couple of years....

If you want to stay on the cheaper side, SOLID makes a great cover, takes a beating and doesn't cost as much as an ARB.

Better check the rear diff too.

Changed the rear first and it was fine....had a solid diff on there but had decided a month ago to go with ARB front and rear. Both done today.
I should have moved the Solid to the front the first time I changed the oil....

So did you buy two? I'm interested in a fancy new cover since I'm rotating my D44 up for the CV. Those high fill plugs are nice. I also like the dipstick so you can set the level.
Too bad Steve isn't on the board anymore. I haven't heard from him in ages.

I ended up using a Currie stamped steel cover for my D44.
Very thick and has the oil fill hole moved up.

Yep...ARB front and rear now. Would mail the Solid one to you, but not sure what you would do with a D60 cover.... :blbl:

Have Scott make something with it.

I was thinking the same thing. I made one out of a diff cover already.

or a WWI helmet if he welds a disc around it.
although now that i think about it probably a stock D30 or 35 would be better for that and the turtle sounds like a great project/idea for the Solid cover
