So thanks to Jeffy and this Forum, wile browsing the other day I came across a link for a site to check your Vin for recalls, I typed in my Vin and sure enough, Parking Brake! I've been messing with mine for a wile, it doesn't really work right even after adjustment's. So I called Mopar went in today, and I'm going tomorrow to get a whole new assembly :) Even better, My cousin is mechanic there, so I'm getting him to install it. I'm not crazy about other people working on my stuff, but in this case,I'm all for it!

what's the link, mine is also finicky and sometimes jumps out (releases on its own) - I should check it to see if i can get a free one :)

That's the last recall for YJ's. Although I've never really had problems with mine. The problem stems from not pushing straight down on it and causing the arm to flex. The ratchet doesn't lock down straight and pops out. If it's done too many times it wears out the tooth and the arm pops off even more often. I still haven't had mine done.

Had mine done but I got the letter informing me of the recall. Was not going to get it done but I live on a hill. One day I set the brake and it clicked off when I was a few feet away. Jeep ended up in the creek that is on my place. Lucky a neighbor saw me and helped to pull me out. Jeep was real close to rolling on its side.
While in there I also found out about if the cat goes bad they would replace it, but only if the Original cat was still on it. I had already replaced mine.

Mine has not been replaced and works fine. But I almost never use it anyway.

I rarely just use the brake, I'll leave it in gear as well just to be safe, but hey, free new parts makes me happy!

Mine does not pop, but the e-brake is shot anyway... The cable is adjusted all the way in, but it is STILL too loose to apply any pressure on the brakes (even on my garage, the Jeep will roll backwards with the e-brake on; it holds a bit better if the hill is to the front, though).

Have you adjusted the brakes at the drum? That needs to be done before adjusting the yoke.

That's what I did, when I bought the jeep I assumed the brakes were bad and needed to be replaced. I adjusted the drums and my braking improved, from there I adjusted the parking brake cable
