Title: C-ya
Post by: JohnnyO on September 25, 2013, 08:38:21 AM
My daughter's beloved '97 TJ will be going to that great used car lot in the sky later this week.  Needs new tires for inspection by the end of the month, the Chinese repro fenders I bought two years ago are rusting apart (FYI), and it needs a heater core before winter.  With her new job it just costs too much in gas and she can get a new Ford Fiesta and not be out any more money than she is now putting 2 or 3 tanks of gas in the Jeep every week.

Thanks, y'all been a great help here.  I will check in occasionally.  :beers:

Its too bad. But I think I remember telling you my experience on that... they suck a fat sloppy Bologna for long distance commuting... got a junky Subaru and gas consumption is about 10 mpg less... and I got to keep the jeep.

SUcks about the Jeep. My wife traded her old subi in for a Fiesta right when they came back out a few yrs ago. She actually bought the very first one in CT and was invited to do a commercial for Ford. Lucky for them, she didn't. The Fiesta visited the shop 4 times in 8 months. The worst break down occurred when the computer that recognizes the transmission fried and basically wouldn't allow the car to drive. The Fiesta was also awful in any amount of snow including a simple dusting. She traded it in 2012 for a brand new Subaru Legacy and hasn't looked back.

My sister wanted to buy a fiesta and the dealer tried to convince her not to buy one. She ended up with a Prius C and loves it.
