dealership didn't have a speedo gear... where can i get one?

need part# 53001488   i think

That part # doesn't look right to me... I could be wrong though.  How many teeth speedo do you need?   Here's a chart I've went by

He's not looking for a TJ speedometer gear.  A 53001488 would be for a 41T Long shaft speedometer gear.

Might put something in the Wanted forums for the gear.  41T is the standard 2.5L manual speedometer gear.  It should be red in color.

41T is stock?

according to that chart, 4.88 gears, 38" tires, would be a 40 tooth... figured a 41 tooth would be the best guess for 40" tires and 4.88's

was i wrong?

Well, good thing I caught the error I made in my chart.

You'll want a 36T.

Buy them from the Dealer for $12.

Well, there could be but you'd have to have someone look it up.  Most of that stuff is special order.

I had a friend at the dealer look it up for me.  According to most sites out there, there was no 37T for my '92.  I was going to get a 36 and a 39.  He looked it up and found one.

I buy all my Mopar parts from www.chryslerpartsdirect.com , a dealer in NJ.  The shipping is cheap and timely; the prices can't be beat.  They even know me by name now...
