Title: Getting that gas vapor smell again....
Post by: jfrabat on February 05, 2014, 06:31:17 PM
This time, I am pretty sure it's the gas cap, but I am really getting tired of getting the Jeep running good only to have something ELSE stop working...  If it weren't because I love it so much, I would sell the darn thing!  (yes, there is a VERY THIN line between love and hate!)

Are you overfilling the tank and getting fumes from the vent?

tank is reading 1/4, so that's not the issue...

The rubber seals on the vents on top of the tank can get messed up and leak from age..

have you looked at the lines from the frame to the inj fuel rail? there are o-rings in those fittings that might leak (at the frame), something to consider.

roll over valves and seals on top of the tank are new (changed within the last year) as are the filler hoses and the lines to the filter.  I am pretty sure this one is the cap...  Have yet to change it, though.  Have not had time to do something as simple as that (on the othr hand, I DID have tome to install the LED courtesy lights!  LOL!)
