Title: shocks
Post by: grumpygy on July 30, 2014, 07:11:45 AM
There was a post on here that showed who manufactured what shocks.  This was to show what shock was the best to buy.  Anybody know where that post is.  It had some good info in it.

I'd go with Bilstein, Fox or King.  I believe they make their own shocks.

Monroe makes most of the 'X-brand' for other companies though.

That's the info I was looking for.  The topic had them all broken down who made what.

Edelbrock was making shocks awhile back-- not anymore though (I've personally used Bilsteins on a couple of vehicles and would recommend those).

Edelbrock used to be a public company listed on the NASDAQ.  I actually bought shares of EDEL in around 1995.  My theory was that they would do well making aftermarket parts for the, then, burgeoning SUV market.

Later, I found that I was one of a grand total of six shareholders lol, which were probably me, Vic Edelbrock, Vic's daughter, some lady in Florida, some guy in Jersey and the investment bank that was dingbat enough to talk Edelbrock in to going public in the first place.  The company was basically off investors' radar screens...

Price didn't budge for a while, so I moved on.  Edelbrock has long since gone back to being a private company.
