Title: ?what to do with old radio location?

 just installed a Smittybilt Stereo security console in my YJ, and am trying to decide what to do with the empty slot. Tuffy switch plate, dash pocket? Has anyone ever used a Ford Taurus single DIN cupholder in their Jeep?
There are also aftermarket ones like this, opinions?

the x-large might not clear the plastic over the gauges

I would personally make a power station - USB/5v, 12v and 120v (I bought an inverter from walmart faily cheap and came in handy for charging tool batteries and laptop even) and get rid of the ones under the dash (12v and ashtray). You can probably even have a USB port to your stereo if it has such an input so you can plug a memory stick in there.

I think a power station panel would be more useful.  Cup holders would be useless.  Also a bit of a stretch for the driver.

The base model S actually had a pocket there since the radio was an option.  I still have mine.  The pocket was pretty useless too though.

I like the power station idea, but for long trips, like when I would drive from Panama to Costa Rica and back, I quickly ran out of places to put stuff in (drinks, fries, etc.), which is why I like the cupholder idea.  I am not sure if they would interfere with the transmission stick, though...  Depends on how much it sticks out.

if it doesn't stick out enough the cup won't fit (the gauge cluster is sticking out about 2 inches from the face of the DIN opening).
