they're cool but too pricey i think.
btw, I think they are made in China https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Original-Cummins-ISF-3-8-Series_347393485.html?spm=a2700.7724857.main07.10.27b61105ml4N0O&s=p
doesn't say in that link if it comes with all accessories , harness and bosch ecu (most likely not).
i found a reman link and the drop-in is over $13k but no info if it has the harness and ecu either http://www.65engineparts.com/cummins_engines
the 3.8L is more interesting, it has a gear driven camshaft and accessories and an optional air compressor https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uFR4mBDo0nI
EDIT: they're showing the MSRP on cummins engines website at $9k for the ISF 2.8L, no info on the 3.8L though https://cumminsengines.com/repower.aspx#sectionEngines, so i'm surprised the rebuilt ones are listed for so much more.

I spoke to Cummins about this engine at a trade show last week and they said they sold 20 the first day. They were tight lipped about torque and power curves beyond the peaks listed on the website. The price seems a bit steep but it is a brand new engine compared to the other engine swap choices I compare it too which would be salvage yard engines with an unknown history (primarily a Chevy lv3 4.3l).

Comparing it to a crate LS3 or a Mopar 5.7L Hemi it's actually very competitive especially since you get the harness and computer.

I was registered with Cummins so I got the invite to buy one..
8000 bucks + shipping for a YJ. Comes all in with mounts ecu all the bells. Not a bad price but more than I can put in a YJ right now.. Wish they would sell a less dolled up kit for the guys with more skills and time than money... LOL
