Title: AutoMeter Gauges
Post by: bootguy on November 15, 2018, 09:18:23 PM
1994 YJ 2.5L FI with 38RH automatic transmission.
I am looking at purchasing a complete set of replacement gauges from Autometer ( https://www.autometer.com/jeep-kit-yj-complete-instrument-kit.html ).  My question is I know there is some signals that have to go to the engine management system, will replacing the sending units and running directly to the gauges give me additional errors/issues?

Just get the gauges that use the same signal.  My guess is that they use the correct gauges to use those signals.  The fuel sender, oil pressure and alternator signal come to mind.  Speedometer reads off the pulse signal off the PCM as well as the tach.

Hey, you get used to how off the gauges are.  It's more along the lines if, is the gauge moving at all, if it is and it's not pegged, then you're okay.
