Title: Repair Manual

What would be a good repair manual to pick up for my 90 yj? Ebay cd's any good? Haynes? Chilton? are they about the same or would it be worth picking up a couple of different ones. Thanks :?:

It's hard to find good manuals for the YJ.  Most of the CD manuals you'll find on ebay are for the TJ.  Although some are copied from ALLDATA.com.

The best manuals are the Factory Service Manuals followed by the CD's then Hayes and lastly Chiltons.

Hayes and Chilton's tend to blur the lines between Carb, TBI and MPFI so some things they mention might not work since it's a general manual.

I'd maybe see if you can find a FSM off ebay.  I bought my second set from there for $25.

I bought a Chilton's because that's all I could find in the local auto store, it could definetely be better but is far better than nothing. It works for me.

Factory Service Manual all the way. Found mine on Ebay, the others are handy to have in the truck in a pinch, but for real trouble shooting, the FSM is where to be.

I saw on this site that someone had created pdf files of the pages in the TJ FSM.  Can someone do that with the YJ manual and post them on this site?

The TJ manauls could be bought on CD from the Dealer.

Scanning a YJ manual, which has SJ/MJ/XJ and YJ stuff in them would be a lot of work.  I started to but then stopped because of the time involved.  Also, to get the best scans a virgin manual will need to be used and cut up.  Otherwise you'll have to exit every page to remove oil marks.
