If I put windshield lights on my jeep, will I still be able to drop my windshield? Was thinking about puting em on. I have never done any night riding, but they would be nice seting up a tent at night,or working out side at night (YAY over time!) or mabey one day... or night I sould say I would be out playing off road at night.
This isent somthing I will be doing any time soon, but Its been buging me.

They are usually attached to the upper windshield so they will fold down with the windshield. It will depend on the lights if they clear the hood/cowl.

Mine clear, they are 4x6 KC's and I used a heavy L bracket to attatch them. Haven't gotten around to wiring them up yet though.

The CARR light bar is also an option

OK. thanks guys!
I like your foot pad JJ... i alwase rest my foot on the hinge.
at least some lights work... Ill have to see how much space I have once I can get the roll cage bolts unstuck and drop my winshield.. I borke my T40 yesterday trying to drop it. :x

Here's a trick. undo the spreader bar from the main hoop. This takes the pressure off the smaller torx. Then remove the two smaller torx.
I ended up replacing my torx with flush allen head bolts. They are much easier to remove since they take an allen key.

Is the TJ and YJ dirrfant? My TJ has 4 T40 bolts on each side... 2 on windsheald and 2 on the cage side... I got the 2 on the windsheald, but the 2 on the cage side broke my torx.
Unless Im not understanding you totly....
are you telling me I did it backwards?

Doh, a TJ! Yeah they are different. You could either remove the screw that holds the tube to the bracket or else try to remove the whole bracket. I think it's supposed to be removed with the bracket though. I'd imagine that the bolt holding the tube to the bracket is probably a safety torx.
TJ's look goofy with the windshield down anyway.

Thanx, they were only 25.00 for the pair plus I got them powdercoated for 10.00 at a local shop. Now they have black ones for 20.00 (figures) Got 'em from http://jeepegs.com/
