Title: Misfire on number four
Post by: GreenBayjeeper on June 01, 2006, 08:03:13 PM
I had Autozone read my check engine light (I couldn't get the key turn/odometer press method to work) and it came back with "misfire on number 4 cylnder".

I know I need to change out my plugs and wires.  What else should I do while I'm at it?  Rotor or cap or anything?

I haven't changed that stuff on anything this new.  I did the plugs and wires two years ago, but not the other goodies.

Might as well do the cap and rotor.  Maybe even do the coil while you're at it.

What year is the Jeep?

Oh yeah.  It's a 98.

I read the review for the rotor cap wire setup in the Nuts and Bolts.

Anyone have a price on one of those?

I don't subscribe to any magazines anymore.  What setup are they talking about?

Oh, the PD FireWire set that I helped on.  I really like it.

I thought you might. ;)

I googled PD FireWire, but got bupkis.

Where might I find more about this finely developed bit of engineering?

A price range, or where to get one would be great.

You can either order from the PD directly or get them from Qtech.

I believe they're under $200 for everything.

Like I've mentioned before I'm running AUtoLite's which PD sent me and they've been gapped to .065" and no problems.  I could probably go up to .070" and still not have problems.   I do run my engine up to redline and it doesn't misfire.
