Title: Articualting Axles
Post by: jagular7 on July 24, 2006, 06:55:25 AM
Back in Dec/Jan time frame, I took pics of my TJ's axles articulating from a loading ramp. I took close-up pics of the twist that is 'designed' into the control arms.

Just got finished with swapping in a 8.8 using mad4x4.com brackets. Due to the offset angle of the track bar axle mount, I had to add an adjustable track bar with a heim joint. The stock rubber bushings were binding in static position.
Here are some pics

Full droop passenger side.

Driver's side is a little higher due to the binding of the rear track bar. The red plate is the spring retainer and I added 1" bump stop risers as we weren't sure of the shock length.

Close-up of the pinion flange and joint. I do have a hair of space so it's still usable.

Articulating, notice the bushing and bolt relation ship to the bracket.

Shock clearance. 34x10.50x15 LTBs on 15x7, bs 4" rims. Looks like room for the Q78's I've got planned as the next tire.

This provides a slightly lower tire stuff in comparison from before.
