hello everyone, first time poster.
Im trying to seal up my ax5 so it wont injest water everytime I get up to the shifter boot.
I cant seem to find the breather anywhere, everyone is telling me its a small button right behind the shifter, but mine doesnt have a little button anywhere on the case :?: :!:
and btw, this is in a 1995 Jeep YJ. Im wondering if the shift tower itself is the vent? because I have a small R&P boot that I was going to put over the tower to seal it up from water, but if the tower itself is the vent, then I cant do that :?:

Welcome to the boards! That's a good question... I own a 1995 too and I have no idea on this one...
Any else?

I actually just called a transmission specialty shop and they said the AX5s dont use a vent system
he told me water got in through the shift tower and I asked the guy if it would be safe to seal the shift tower and he said yes, as I understand though, the transmission expands and contracts, wouldnt that blow the seals?

I guess no one knows, over at Jeepaholics they dont even know either
oh well, I guess ill get everything back together and just flush the tranny everytime I go above the shifters (which wont be often anyways)
