I recently had a little rear shock problem -- thanks to SMC, my new rear shocks are probably going to have some OME guards on them coming up.
But, I was also looking at something to cover the rear diff, too (since I'm "shocked" that it was my shocks that too the hits vs. my much lower rear diff)
Any of you guys use a "Glider," in addition to Diff guards?

Check out Mike Duncan, 4xDoctor and look at his guards... I'm running his front D30 diff guard, and he makes some great looking sliders.
I can give you 3-5 more companies and recommendations (and I hope that others following me on this post do just that). But you dealt with the guy and his company... Very reputable company!

What are you refering to by 'Gliders'? Diff skidplates? I doubt anyone runs diff skidplates any more. They act like shovels most of the time and eat up ground clearance. Go Rhino uses to be popular along with Con-Ferr back in the day.
I also run 4xDoc's diff guards. They are alight and are probably one of the better designs out there. Although I really like the Warn guard and teh Rockstomper which is a complete diff cover. The advantage of a diff cover is that they typically raise the fill plug and have gussets that help cool. 4xDoc's are the cheapest that I've seen though. Only problem I've had was mounting my D30 guard. It rubs against the cover in some areas and can cause leaks if not bolted down right.

I'm planning on getting this one for the D30. Kinda pricey at 125.00 but I don't plan on getting rid of that axle anytime soon.

"Glider" must be Turbo-City Speak and not a universal term. Here's the link for the parts

4xdoctor did the Aussie install for me. Yeah, they're a cool shop. Didn't realize the also sold their own make of parts -- shop just looked like basically that, a servic bay and a small front office. But, yeah, I'll probably just roll over there and have them put at least a rear diff guard on.

Why not buy it and install it yourself?

Why? Good for the economy and I don't like to get my hands dirty
Nah, actually, I have to go over there anyway for some other service, so just let them have a go while it's on the lift

That's bad ass Jeffy! Definately going to move up the priority list. Thanx![/quote]

Geez, those guys are giving away those Rockcrusher covers. Could sell them for $80 and they'd still be flying off the shelves. What's the deal with $45...are they factory seconds or something?
