While driving the jeep this morning I noticed the check guages light came one, a quick scan of the insturment panel gave me a read of over 19 volts!! I quickly shut off the engine, waited a while, restarted and found the egngine running 12 volts again.
Is this a computer error? or do i have some sorta electrical problem somewhere?
I have Yellow Top battery, Mean Green Altenator, Pair of KC 100 watt slimlights, CB are the only electrical mods i have done to it.

Could have been a glitch but my other guess is the voltage regulator.

I think that some jeeps have the votage regulator built into the computer, I don't know what year models though. My jeep reads low voltage on the dash guage sometimes but when I check the alternator output with my voltmeter it's OK.

ive been away for a while and my dad took it 2 a local 4x4 shop (those bastards touching, violating her ) and there saying one of the battery cables is starting to corrode, makes since the increase in resistance would provide for more voltage

Ahhh... The simplist of solutions...

Hope that's all it is. I had the same problem, and wasn't as forunate. It was my PCM.

Hmmmm, I did not know this. I'll have to look into this and find out what years.
