The Black Diamond Xtreme Coil Link (XCL) X2 system is now for the CJ, YJ, & TJ actually puts leafs on the rear for the TJ kit and is said to have some promising advantages for hardcore wheeling.

Like I said in the other thread, that looks cool. Kinda like the Fabtech for the YJ. Black Diamond has a SOA and a new TJ lift in R&D when they were sold to Superlift. I wonder if any of those came from those projects.

Just read your post on the other thread and that was my same reaction when I saw this on the outdoor channel offroad adventure in Moab! I feel it may be a little out of my price range  and even better than the Fabtech. My YJ is due for some new suspension soon so I be shoppin.

Pricewise it can't be anymore then a TJ long arm kit with coilovers though. Still, it would be hard to beat a properly built SOA. It looks cool though. Expensive with YJ money, LOL! :roflol:

I think the coil/leaf combo is a good setup, lot more stable than a car spring at each corner

I saw the YJ setup at CampJeep and spoke to Superlift about the TJ version.
The arm is long and swivels near the frame point. Only suggestion I gave is to have a separate skid plate so that maintenance is rather easy to perform. Their YJ kit comes that way.
They weren't sure how the rear shackle was to work out on the TJ just yet. They had bolt on frame brackets for it, top with long shackle or bottom with short shackle, and weld on front hangers. I suggested that they look at the short shackle and use the Baja Bushing (http://www.deaverspring.com/BajaBushing.htm) type of thing in the eyes of the spring. This would provide the twist in the spring to resist the leverage of the short shackle.

From the pict on their size it looks like the skid is seperate from the crossmember and the arms are bolted to the frame on seperate brackets. So now you can drop the transfer case without having to take the arms down too. Was it different when you saw it?
Those baja bushing are similar to what Alcan Springs makes. They are really cool since they take the pressure off the shackles when they get twisted up. A bit sepensive though. Kind of like a Revolver shackle without the extending. The only downside I can maybe see is maybe for street driving.

Here's the Fabtech again...

Yah, it looked separate but you never know till you start taking it all apart. At CJ, I took a few pics while laying underneath it. Here they are for the YJ coil-over front, SOA rear.

Notice it's still has stock axles running on 36" IROCs and was running a SYE. I did have a rear shackle pic but it came out blurry (I moved while taking it). Not sure how thick the tubing is on the arms, but it does look rather large in outer diameter. My suggestion was for the TJ version on the skid plate. I also asked to have it lengthened to cover the front of the trans (esp. the auto) and flatter with the frame.
