Title: Venom 400
Post by: Greatwhite on October 13, 2006, 09:06:56 PM
Venom 400 (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=VNM%2DV48%2D222&N=700+4294908280+4294907384+4294924755+4294869671+4294914956+115&autoview=sku)

Anyone know if the Venom 400 is worth getting? sounds like it could be nice to have unleash a little more power for the 2.5  and not kill gas milage under normal driving. Anyone have one installed?  If it does what it says it can do "25% more horsepower" its a big deal :D

I've thought about getting one since it seems to be the only way to 'chip' a YJ.  I think they're numbers are a bit lofty though.  :lol1:

Since you can hook it up to a laptop, it would make it more interesting and customizable.

Yea it seems as thought the 25% power increase is a bit outragous.  You think that if it actually performs as it says it can you would be hard pressed to find a YJ with out one

i don't know though look at the superchips tuners for the trucks.  everyone of those i have seen has been amazing change so i can't imagine this could be a flop.  it runs off the same principal and adjusts the vehicle the same way.

Qtech used to sell the for a while.  I think 4wd used to also.  I ahven't really heard much from the company since it was initially introduced though.

I think I'd rather ditch the OE PCM and go with a stand alone that's laptop programmable.

i have a full  programmabe on my subie and it can be a pain.  for the jeep i think i would rather just have the simplicity.  my subie is fun and i can do anything with the unit in it but it takes awhile and if the battery goes dead from sitting all the time like it does then i have to do it all again.  don't get me wrong having 8 maps ready and swtichable at the push of a buttom is nice when it is all set right
