Post by: dexetr30 on October 24, 2006, 06:25:31 PM
Anyone know where I can get a transfer case skid plate for my 93 YJ? Mine is beat to all hell and needs to be replaced.:(  I'm not looking for anything special. Just a stock style part.

Lol, damnit it. I knew that was going to be someones answer. It's getting a bit to cold to be walking around a scrap yard. I'll do it though if that's my only choice. I looked all over the internet and found nothing.

I'd say Junkyard, like the others or on a forum.  There are no real aftermarket stock units out there.  There are a few belly-up but that's not what you're after.

Check on a forum like Jeepsunlimited.com or pirate4x4 for people who have went belly-up and still have their stock skids hanging in the garage.  Otherwise, you might try a local yard or www.car-parts.com.  That site is a network of junkyards that can usually fine the part you're after without costing an arm and a leg.

You're near several Jeep only clubs in PA. Check with their websites/forums.

Jeeps-R-Us (http://www.jeepsrus.org/)
Blue Mtn Jeep (http://www.bmja.org/)

That's what I can think of now.

Well i'm going to be building a belly up/flat skid in about a month, so i technically should have one available sometime soon... shipping would probably be expensive though. I'd check your local jeep boards and start calling junkyards.
