Hey guys im new to this site, and i have been searching around looks awsome!!! i have a question.... i recently bought a 95' Wrangler Rio Grande 2.5L and the engine has a tick/knock at idle its pretty loud... ONLY at idle though, when given gas it goes away.... any ideas ???? please ?? THANKS

Probably normal lifter tick. It should go away once the engine's warmed up.
Although it could be an exhaust leak. It's a bit hard to diagnose a noise without hearing it. Check the last stud on the exhaust manifold to make sure it's there. There should be a stud with a nut on it. That's a common place for an exhaust leak.

I will check for the stud, but as far as it going away when warm, it doesnt... only goes away when the engine has RPM's ??

Mine has done the same thing for over a year. Hasn't had any ill effect on anything and I've taken a few 5hr or longer trips with no issues.

last stud and 1st stud, ive had both broken off, that was a fun day of drilling

How much oil pressure does it carry? Sometimes if your oil pressure is too low you don't get enough oil to the top end of the motor causing the lifters to tick or rattle a little.

It carries fine oil pressure, i run Royal Purple 10-30 with a little lucas full sythenic , pressure is around 40-60

Go rent a spark plug hole compression guage to isolate the troubled cylinder. A knock is piston, a tick is maybe a valve? Crack your valve cover and looksee.
