Well, my folks just gave a budget of $250 to spend on christmas. So what to get? I was thinking about getting the cat-back from 4wd for $113 and maybe bestop seat covers $99. any ideas?

sounds good to me...or you could just send it to me to offset my winch costs...

After seeing your sig, I'd suggest you invest the $250 so that by the end of a year, you'll have more. Besides, once your Dad sees you invest, he'll be gladly to help you do that more, with more money..... :P
You really can't do a whole lot on $250 as whatever you do will lead you into something else to spend on, its known as the Just-Empty-Every-Pocket syndrome.
But if you really had to spend, I'd look into safety, recovery, and/or communication items.
Good luck and let us know what you decided.

The muffler shop here said that 2 1/2" piping would rob too much back pressure from the motor. He recommended the stock 2 1/4" to me.
My 2 cents.
I still have stock and do not know of any gains, personally. Any body know of gains?

hey on those seats what was the final cost for you, and were did u get the mounting hardware from? cause it says u can get it from sparco but its not included in the purchase, i like those seats they would go good with my jeep

I am curious about this as well, hopefully someone can chime in with an answer.

Unless you really plan on doing a lot of mods, it's probably best to stay with 2-1/4" pipe to keep the backpressure up and torque up.

What kind of cat back are you planning on? Ive thought about getting either just a flowmaster 40 or a borla then a turndown behind it, any thoughts on the sound or anything?

I am running this: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=WLK%2D17309&N=700+4294908280+4294907384+4294924755+4294923429+115&autoview=sku
+ a new CAT... it revs a little quicker through the mid range and is louder than the old swiss cheesed muffler. I do not feel any loss in torque - IMO.
With $250 - I would do sway bar disco's a MORE 1" BL and tow hooks. My original exhaust lasted 11 years - so unless you mangled it - keep it.

Does it sound at all like a fart can?
-
No... but nothing is gonna make it sound like a V8.

Doh! I just ordered a set of seat covers and I could have gotten those for just a little bit more :P

well, I decided to go with asthetics and got some mickey thompson II wheels and use some of my own $. I actually didn't decide until Monday the 1st. Amazing thing is that I placed the order from quadratec Monday morning new years day, and they arrived on Wed. That's only two days, I don't think I have ever had such speedy service.
