Title: Pinion yoke
Post by: 95 Lowbuck on December 31, 2006, 06:49:26 AM
I'm building a Dana 44 rear end from a XJ for my YJ.
It did not come with a Pinion Yoke so I bought U-Bolt style
from Quadratec.
It has an extra sheetmetal Oil Slinger pressed on it.
I have never seen this on a Dana 44 before.
Seems to bolt up and fit good, is there any disadvantage
to this style Yoke ?

I hope that someone with more experience could help you out on this one...

I've seen those slingers used for 'High Pinion' applications.  I can't see anything wrong with installing it on a low pinion D44...  Never an issue of having too much fluid movement.

The 'slinger' is a shield for the seal.  There should be no difference other then making it harder to see the seal.
