Title: 3WD Time for PosiLok or better solution
Post by: jeepboy21 on January 28, 2007, 11:17:17 AM
Moved to a new town and hooked up with a 4wd club. went on a run last night through the snow. I had to take a strap 3x. in 4wd both rear tires would spin but only the drivers side front wheel would spin, was not getting any power to passenger side front wheel. when we stopped I check to make sure all the vacuum lines were plugged in. So the question is how do I fix this quickly and cheapest? I have a lockright in the front and would like to keep the 4wd light if possible. Thank you for any/all help.

posi lock would fix the engaging problem, but if you have an open diff in the front that is normal

What year and model Jeep?  If you already have a lockright in the front and it is still not working then most likely there is something wrong with the lockright.

Thanks for all the help. Ordered a PosiLok and cast shift fork really cheap from a friend that works @ an auto parts place.

It is cheaper to repair the existing system.  This may require replacing vacuum lines and/or the vacuum motor on the axle.  A more expensive fix is to install the posi-lock.  Also, some web page write-ups can be found on how to make your own posi-lock for less $.
