You get what you pay for.

ditto. go expensive. it'll cost you otherwise.

I have a borla and it sounds good and you can feel a differance. It does make the exhaust a good bit louder though. I bought it because I work at a jeep dealership and I see tons of cracked manifolds and the borla has a lifetime warranty

my exhaust system is already pretty loud, does it sound louder in a better way?
-
I to would recomend the Borla exhaust.

I can't say what it will sound like on your jeep without knowing what your engine is like and what other exhaust components you are using. I custom built my motor from head to crank (ha-ha) and my exhaust is custom bent. Basically if you have a good muffler and converter it should be good loud, but if you have a cheapo muffler or no converter it may sound unorganized, sloppy, and out-of-control loud.

Hi Guys.
I just bought A Banks torque tube. Talk about thick :)
It's not polished But it's maintance free and life time warranty. I can take a pic later today if any would like to see. It looks like it may rain so my planned start got delayed for the install. I hopeing for later this afternoon.
Can a stock mandrel bent down tube be bought any where online for a
2.5L 92 4banger in stainless ?
Any way It's good to be back and I am glad I found the Forum agian, Looking Good Jeff.

Welcome back.
Doesn't the banks come with a down pipe? I think you'll have to get one custom bent. Shouldn't be too much although you will need to drill and weld a bung to it. If you've got a YJ then I'd go ahead and have ti rerouted for better clearance. Also I'd use the tame dia. tub as the rest of the exhaust.
Take a bunch of pictures and we can add it to the how-to page.

No down pipe with the Banks 4 banger header. It's make to fit stock down tube.
But my down pipe was to small so i bought a 2x 2.5 adapter and made a flared end to fit the donut gasket and sawed the end off the down pipe and welded the new end on. Work slick and the new lincoln is paying for it self fast. Next on my list is my Rock Solid Bumper i am building.

Was looking at this old post for Info on headers.
Guys at Four X Doctors are, currently, changing out the fan clutch, master cylinder and motor mounts on my YJ. Also, telling me that my exhaust manifold has a leak and needs repair/replacement.
Wasn't planning on installing headers in place of the stock exhaust manifold -- my Borla cat-back exhaust is loud enough, as it is, for my area. But, now that the current exhaust manifold is dying, I might as well replace it with something that is going to last for a while -- a stainless steel header -- since I plan on holding on to this YJ.
Basically it looks like Banks or Borla at $400+ a crack + shipping; then labor for the install. Probably go with Borla. But, I have heard very good things about Ceramic Coatings on Headers -- that engine exhaust heat is seriously contained by the coating. What would you guys recommend, buy a Borla 4 cyl header and then send it to Jet-Hot for a coating? Any idea if this would mess with Borla's million mile warranty? (figure if Borla was in to ceramic coatings, they would already be offering them)
Going to need to :drink2: after getting the bill for all this work.
