Hey Guys I just thought I should tell you guys what happened today. I was in my college history class today and I over heard a fellow Jeep talking about his rig. I got talking with him and hes been trying to get rid of 4 32 inch Mud Kings. I asked if I could have them and he said I could coma and pick them up on wed the 14th. Hes giving me free tires! He said that there are about half worn. I don't care I have been looking at tires for awhile. I am pumped. I know there not the greatest tires out there, but hey man the are FREE! U cant beet free. Now i am going to buy some kind of lift to fit them on my rig. I am thinking 1 inch body and a 2 inch shackle to get a solid 2 inch budget lift.
Tell me what you think.

nice.. but 2 inch shackle lift is kinda alot of shackle lift..

Yeah, 2" shackles will throw your pinion angles off horribly and also mess with the castor in the front. 1" is the most i will ever run again for a lift shackle. 4wd.com has a good deal on some 1" lift shackles for YJs. ($39 a pair)
Also if you do any wheeling you will hate the 2" shackles even after you correct the pinion and castor problems. They will hang up on rocks, stumps, and anything else on the trail. Im not telling you this because I read it somewhere, I have 2" lift shackles on my YJ right now and I hate it so I ordered the 1" shackles and a 1" body lift to get rid of them.
I say 1" body lift and some TJ flares would be a better idea. I just installed TJ flares on my 95 and its the best mod I have done to my Jeep so far.

Thanks guys. I will go with a 1 inch shackle I don't want mess up my pinion. I will probably get the 1 inch body lift also. What about a 2inch body lift? Does any one have pic's' of shackle and body combinations? I have been loking around and can not find any. If u have some please show me. Thanx

i might be a little late but the 2" shackles on my jeep are throwing of my angles so bad that i need new tires. and its only the front passenger side thats wearing real bad, to the point of being bald. lift shackles bad. :nono:

There are some Cheap ($20) TJ flares for sale on my local Jeep Club site www.tnvjc.org

I'd probably go with 1" body (JKS sells a 1.25"), 3/4" shackle lift and some TJ flares with liberal cutting. That's the cheapest way to go about it without messing up anything like steering geometry.

Hey I just got the Tires today! Yea. They have more tread then I thought they would. I also just some shackles. I cant wait to put it all together. Jeep on! ;)

I will post some pics when I start the install. I am kind of pissed at the guy i bought the shackles from. He can not send them out on till Monday the 26th. The good thing is the shackles are guaranteed for life and they are powder coated and come with grade 8 hardware. The guy builds them him self . I just cant wait for them to get here. Oh I am also going to put on the soft top this weekend. Its going to be in the 50's!
