Needless to say i couldn't jump out of a plane because i was too busy being in a wreck.

Worst day of my jeeping life. Good news is that the insurance company is going to give me 4500 dollars and i think it will only cost around 2000.

What did you hit? The bumper and frame look un touched?
-
Ha ha. I know, it's rediculous. I hit the honda accord in the background. I had the swaybar off and had slammed on the brakes so i guess my jeep dove far enough that the bumber went under the little honda's. Would have been nice for me if it didn't. Nothing broke except the fan shroud and front left turn signal. I took the fan shroud out and put the fan belt back on.

That's bad news. At least your ok, got nice photos for us to see and a decent insurance (overestimated) payout, right?

Bummer. But the sway bar doesn't do anything to stop the jeep from diving, they only control body roll in a turn.

It looks to me like he was braking hard and turning right at the same time to avoid hitting the car...clipped him on the passenger rear...sway bar would have helped a little then...

If that's the case, lucky it didn't roll

my solution to this problem.. get a bigger lift.. with more lift would have just hit with the bumper :rtfm:.. but thats just my devilish idea on this topic...what happened to those 2 devilish emotions anyways :puzzled:... glad your ok

That's exactly my thoughts. I was only going 35 or so then slammed on my brakes and I don't remember turning, I think i was just trying to keep it straight in traffic but the left side on the bumber went under theirs and their bumber rode up the sway bar (i had the link tucked on top of the shock Bucket) and into my grill. I couldn't believe the damage, i was probably going 10~15 miles an hour when i hit them.

Honda 1 - Jeep 0

haha but you drove home, and could stil dirve today. good news is engine wasnt touched, only thing that prob happened was your fan shroud was crushed being that its like 20 inches wide
-
"...I fell on my Jeep." should be the appropriate answer.
-
Shoulda got a YJ
-
Shoulda got a YJ
damn straight....would have been one less stupid rectangular headlight grill out there... :twofingers:
-
You are 100 percent right about the fan shroud... and the yj. Haha.
-
YJ's look good a little roughed up (maybe not that much) TJ's still look too new.
-
Good you're okay, tuff luck for the TJ though! Make sure they check the frame out, can give you vibration & tracking issues down the road if it was bent.
-
Bummer man, sucks you missed your jump too. At least your insurance is taking care of you. I just got my heep back from the autobody shop today looks good as new though I am sure yours will too soon enough. good luck with it
-
I'm glad to hear that the freedom machine is good as new. The world is a little brighter now. :spam:
-
yj would have just drove over it....
-
my yj hit a camry in the rear on a high way and the camry had the trunk puched in to the back seat and all my yj got was a little tweak of the front bumper which i just pulled back to straight. so anything you want to say about yj just think about that.
-
speaking of that... ounce we got rear ended in my dads truck and we had a trailer receiver hitch in the back and the car hit that was totaled and all that happened to the truck we a little red pant from the car...
-
You guys have good stories, maybe with my luck i should mount a cattle guard on my front bumber.
