Title: turbo on a 2.5 with TBI
Post by: turbochris700 on April 02, 2007, 02:38:59 PM
Hello all. This is my first post on here and would like to thank anyone in advance for there wisdom.

I own a few jeeps like many of you on here and was wondering if the 2.5 TBI motor in my 1990 would hold up to a little turbocharger? I have several spare turbo's here at the garage and was wanting to give it a little kick in the butt.....lol. Anyways i have never turbo'ed a TBI motor so my main concern was getting the fuel set up. Any info you might have would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

same as us mpfi guys. pick your choice of how to get more fuel to the motor under boost and you will be fine.

Would it be a bit easier to get more fuel into the engine with a carb then with a EFI system?  My guess is yes since it's a simpler system.

I'm definately not the person to respond to forced induction and carbs... never owned one or done any research on it. I'd imagine it'd be just as easy as mpfi.
