Title: Rear End Oil Fill
Post by: 95 Lowbuck on April 10, 2007, 05:38:40 PM
Installing a D44 into my YJ.
The Pinion will be rotated up for  the SYE and CV Drive Shaft.
How do  you make sure that you have enough Oil in
the Rear End to lubricate the Pinion Bearing ?
Should I buy an aftermarket Cover with the raised Fill Plug ?
If so, any suggestions ?

I'd just fill it to the plug.  That's all I do.  If you get a new cover or raise the current plug, you run teh risk of adding too much oil and having it leak out the pinion or outer seals.

park going downhill, or jack up from the rear bumper frame, anything to make the rear pinion lean toward the ground.  but i agree with jeffy if its up to the fill cap its fine
