Title: Axles
Post by: 4x4grey88 on April 14, 2007, 12:09:00 AM
Hey I recenlty purchased a set of axles Dana 30 & 35 with 4:56 gears and Powerloc limited slip lockers.

After reading some of the comments on these axles would you recommend installing this set? I currenlty have a 2.5" lift with 33" xterrains. I dont have tire rub unless I hit the trails real hard (which I'm not really a large rock crawler Jeeper).

When I installed the 33's I noticed a big loss of power and was looking into re-gearing when I found these two axles (hub to hub) for about $400.

I was figuring that it would be less expensive this way.

Your opinion????

Defiantly.  It's going to cost you at least twice that to get to the same point.  Not to mention you can swap axles in a day with just hand tools.  With air tools, it can be done in a few hours.  You can keep your old axles as spares which is a real good idea.
