Title: CJ steel doors on a YJ, what do I need to do?
Post by: Jeeper736 on May 30, 2007, 10:16:02 AM
Hi all,

I just got a sweet deal on some full steel doors (for winter).  They are off a CJ and I have heard I may need to change my strikers.  Anyone know about this?

The outside of the doors have the handle vs. the paddle and the insides have the metal bar (near the back of the door) you use to open the door vs. the handle you would pull (at the front of the door).  Instead of they typical catch, the door has just a flat piece of metal that "catches" the latch.  My YJ has a round striker, do I need to get a flat style one or will these fit without changing the strikers?  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks!

From what I remember you will need to get new strikers to match the levers on the doors.  It should be fairly straight forward.  The hardest part is finding the strikers.

Yep, thats probably what I need.  Thanks Jesse-James.  I was hoping they wouldn't be 75 bucks (kinda makes the doors less of a deal, but oh well).
