The rear D44 is under the '95 YJ now. Even though it drives exactly the same it is good to know it is there.
My question is how much should the slip yoke stick out of the tail cone? I´m concerned about the drive shaft now being too long and possibly impacting the rear of the TC. The jeep has stock suspension. Thanks.

1" should be fine. Keep in mind that unless you bounce the rear hard thee suspension won't compress much. When you're articulating, the diff doesn't really change much.

I borrowed this pic from another recent thread, ideally you would want the slipyoke to be about 1/2" to 1" further into the tailcone.
Keep in mind that should you be able to compress the entire rear suspension, the slipyoke will only compress a fraction of the distance the suspension compressed.

Wow Jeffy, you can sure tell there isn't much mud out in CA. That rig is clean. Now that I see the pic of yours and Bounty Hunter's, I'll be taking mine in to the shop.

It has exactly one inch now (2 inches before the swap) so it sounds like it should be fine. Thanks a lot for the help.

That's actually when I was living in Hawaii. I don't really do mud though. :weee:
If you're not wheeling then it shouldn't be a problem. You risk breaking it if you compress the suspension while romping on the throttle though. Looks like you have about 2-3" there. You can see 1" from the shaft and then it looks like the person lifted their Jeep since there's an additional mark part that.

What length do you need from center of ujoint to center of ujoint?
I could send you one minus the slipyoke and ujoints, for $20 +shipping.
It's very expensive to get a driveshaft lenghtened and balanced around here, especially with the price of steel so high. Last one i had worked on was about $95.
