Couple days ago i was getting in my 2000 TJ and my trusty side step broke at the connection from rail to hinge. My wife thot it was funny as i hung on straddling my lower door frame looking like a fool. :asshat: These steps are 3" Black Powder-coated Side Tubes and only at the most 3 years old. They have so much rust on them its really pathetic. I was wandering if anyone else had a similiar issue and is ther a better brand to get? Also, was looking to get Titanium Finish or Stainless Steel do these finishes stand up better against rust.

I would say you should get some rock sliders with the rails on them...double points for step/trail protection.

Wow, those Poison Spider rockers are ugly.
There are many companies that make decent rocker guards that have integrated steps/sliders. The first was probably 4xDoctor.
As for nerfs, it seems quality really dropped in the late 90's with nerf bars. I have some old school smittybilt nerfs from the early 90's, could be 80's, and they are solid. For ground clearance though rocker guards are better. If I was going to get some, I'd go with the Kilby.

To each his own Jeffy, I tend to like a lot of the poison spyder stuff pretty good quality and nice looking, but then looks are in the eye of the beholder

Yeah...I prefer the ones with just the slider bar going across as a step...but was too lazy to find the picture at the time. My new ones will be from the guy who did my bumpers and will look somewhat like these:

WOW thanks guys both suggestions are good ones. Tuff decision to make as i like both styles. Unfortuntely Im not going to be able to get any of them until next shopping spree, as i just got my new 33" Maxxis Bighorns on over the weekend and will need to boost my HP/Torque with the following startup --- Performance Chip Stage I, Pertronix Black 3.0 OHM Flame Thrower Coil, AIRAID® Throttle Body Spacer, Electric Fan (not sure what type yet). And then of course i have to get me a hi lift jack. Also was looking at some quick disconnects as when they put my tires on over the weekend my passenger side disconnect snapped at the top. Any suggestions on wher to find a good electric fan? I saw a few at Quadratec which are kinda pricey. Be Cool 16" Electric Medium Profile "Puller" Fan (1610 CFM) $150 or Be Cool 16" Electric High Torque "Pusher" Fan (2360 CFM) $190 ?
On a side note: Spyder Customs website is very sexy. Rock Rods FTW :clap:
