I am finding some small amounts of water in my oil :yikes: it seems to disappear after the engine reaches normal operating temperature. I have checked for bubbles in the coolant (with the rad cap off while idling) thinking the head gasket mite be blown but found nothing
I have been told by an ex Chrysler mechanic that at this time of year it is common for a bit of water "from condensation" to be in the oil, with short trips and cooler temperatures.
However very soon after I bought my YJ from a dealership, I found out that it had 2 burnt valves (so the dealership fixed it even though I was planning to do it myself) and charged me what it would have cost me for just the machining. I am thinking that the head needs to be re-torqued at least I thought it would be a good start anyway.
Is there anyone who can tell me what the torque specs for the 94 2.5L head are ??? & any other thoughts would be appreciated also.

if you go to autozone.com they usually have the torq specs for stuff.

thanks for the site it worked well, except for the head bolt torque there must be a mistake on the page all it says is "foot pounds (final torque)" no actual number to torque to. Every other torque showed up just the head bolt torque for the 2.5L that didn't work.

Go to the FAQ and grab the Factory Service Manual.

Try pulling the valve cover and look for signs of coolant sluge from a head bolt, I believe some head bolts go through to the water jacket and may require RTV on the threads before re-torque if leakage is evident. Second, your head gasket may be leaking coolant into a water jacket, replace head gasket and clean all threads with tap and die before re-assembly or the torque will read higher than actual.

I thought that the head gasket could be leaking, but it wont even be much over a month since the head was re-done new gasket and all. I have had leaking head gaskets before and the amount of water in the oil is allot more then I am getting, the oil goes foamy white is those cases and I am only finding small traces in the oil. The head work was done by a good machine shop in town for the Jeep dealership that did the work. Now as I said earlier I would much rather do the work myself but due to a miscommunication on their part they did the work, so I ended up not paying anything more then what it would have cost me anyway. I know this Jeep Dealership to do good work while they are very slow they are reputable, and I have just assumed that they would have put it back together properly.
I went to FAQ to get the Factory Service Manual and while it did download and unzip fine, for some reason it would not install on my computer, so could someone who has the Manual tell my what the head bolt torque specs are ???
