Ok so i don't know whats up but the ac in my jeep is toast . It hasn't worked since i got it so i don't know what to look at to fix it . It does nothing when i flip any of the ac controls , no heat ,no ac ,no fan sounds, nothing . Ive been reading a lot about the heater cores going out but I'm not sure if thats what the problem is ??
Also its a 93 wrangler if that helps any
Thanks
Alex

First is it a XJ, YJ, MJ, TJ, etc...
I'll take a guess and say it's a TJ though since those have had issues with the HVAC controllers. I'ts more then likely that's the issue since your AC and heater doesn't work.

no its a yj , so what should i look at to find out the trouble
sorry but i just relized ive been posting my last couple posts in the wrong section . it wont happen again

If the fan doesn't come on, start by checking the fuses - and if the fuse is good, check for voltage at the fuse socket with a multimeter. I had one on my kids car that had enough corrosion on the fuse plug that there was no juice making it through.

ok im gona go check that now. Thanks. cuz the fan is not coming on . its like the switches go to nothing . no sounds of anything trying to work or anything
-
OK well went to check the fuse and there isnt one in there . so im gona run down to auto zone and see if that fixes the proublem
-
ok well its the relay i was missing . i went and got one but it dosnt fit
it fits the holes but theres nothing grabing it? not sure what i should be looking at now ? but i know winter is gona be coming and i gota get a heater goin

I think if the heater core was bad it wouldnt return the coolant into the engine or it would leak inside the cab on the passenger side.

I don't know too much about the ac system on the jeeps, my 91 YJ doesn't have ac, but another thing you might want to check is the actual switch and connection between the button/lever and the cooling unit. i had a problem like that with my heating/defrosters.

fixed it . haha
dont know what i did but changed almost every fuse and did a few other things with wireing and now she works

jcwhitney.com has the cheapest bestop. the other tops aren't worth the money, but i dropped the bestop onto my 91 yj and it required no mods whatsoever. very simple to put on and well worth the money. haven't had a single leak, it doesn't flap like the other tops on the market. fits better than stock.
