I was researching a possible supercharger option that would work on the Jeep 2.5, and came upon the Avenger supercharger. Check out the link at http://www.avengersuperchargers.com/ You can bolt on 58 hp and 40 % more torque and should be able to get 181 hp out of the 2.5. Of course the price for the ponies is enough to put most of us out...$3,695!!! plus tax shipping and handling. On the 4.0L 6 you can get 100 hp and 55% more torque and getting 290 hp for $3,995 Just thought I would share a little 411. Personally I would only put a supercharger in the 4.0L comes down to ponies per dollar. Peace.

ya thats been brought up a few times.. but as you said it is a bit $$$$ which is why some people go with a turbo instead... but we do have at least 1 supercharged 2.5l hear somewhere. ???

For $3,900, I wouldn't even bother with a 4.0L. For that much coin you could move to a 4.3L or even a 5.3L. Means more work and not just one weekend. But then you won't be wanting more with a 4.0L... It doesn't make sense to swap in a 4.0L and stroke it or supercharge it when you could have a V8 and be done. With that much money, you could easily move into 6.0L range.

I have the Avenger. The only reason i did was because i found a really smoking deal on it. Dyno'd around 130hp at the rear wheels. Now its pushing me around on 60's with 40" IROKS. Does pretty good. Need to move to an auto though to make better use of the power. If i was to do it again, i wouldnt. Even for the price i got, i should have done a V8 or a MB diesel.
